The 24th edition of n a c h t s c h i c h t ("night shift") sees the physical structures of transform into a landscape to showcase works of performance and visual artists that develop, inspire and challenge ideas behind softness and machinery. S o f t M a c h i n e s thereby questions the reciprocity between vulnerability and function.
Upon encounter, the body is repeatedly greeted by a motoric role: it receives, pulling and inscribing into the flesh, all the while decomposing into new structures. The body ceaselessly works to extend itself to its surroundings, perhaps just as aware of its limitations as it is of its latent potential.
